Colomba di Pasqua, aka the Easter dove or the sister of the panettone.

The dove shape of this artisanal product is a choice dictated not only by symbolism, but also by the new spring season coming. In Italy, it's considered the “Easter cake.” The Colomba is the product of over 35 hours of fermentation. The dove is naturally leavened with only “lievito madre" (sourdough starter) without any use of preservatives or stabilizers. The fluffy, buttery, and light dough is 'traditionally’ full of homemade candied orange and hazelnut or almond glaze coats the outside.

Delicious on its own, Colomba is often served with fresh berries, drizzled in dark chocolate, slathered in sweet spreads, or paired with whipped cream. Italians even will enjoy a slice with coffee for breakfast or an afternoon pick-me-up!

Ingredients: Soft wheat flour (from Italy), European butter 83%, water, organic high quality saffron eggs, organic sugar, natural levain (wheat flour, water), Valhrona dark and semisweet chocolate and/or homemade candied orange (orange peels, glucose), local organic honey, sea salt, vanilla bean (from Madagascar), lemon zest.
